The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), the youth wing of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, has called on the Department of State Services (DSS) to arrest a former Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo, for his threat to the Igbo people.

In a viral video, Dokubo was seen flaunting guns and threatening to kill the Igbo-speaking people in Nigeria, days after meeting President Bola Tinubu.

The former militant leader said that he would have sold the Igbo people to slavery if not for the intervention of the British. He also accused the Igbo people of looking for trouble and being killed everywhere.

The OYC condemned Dokubo’s utterances and actions as provocative and inciting. The group urged the DSS to arrest him within 48 hours and prosecute him for acts of terrorism.

The OYC also expressed suspicion that Dokubo’s visit to Aso Rock was part of a secret agenda by President Tinubu to marginalize and eliminate the Igbo people.

The group warned that if Dokubo was not arrested and jailed, the Igbo people would have no choice but to defend themselves against any attack by him or his agents.

The OYC said that it would not tolerate any attempt to intimidate or exterminate the Igbo people who have contributed immensely to the development and unity of Nigeria.

The group appealed to all peace-loving Nigerians to join hands in condemning Dokubo’s threat and ensuring that justice is done.
