DNA test exposes Bayelsa House wife, Celia Ototo’s paternity fraud …Scandal has caused excruciating mental trauma, says Justice Okorodas

A Yenagoa-based female lawyer and ex-wife of Justice Anthony Okorodas, Barr. Celia Juliet Ototo is alleged to have been mired in paternity scandal.

Barr. Ototo, who was said to have bore three children, a girl and two boys claimed that the children were fathered by her then husband, Justice Okorodas.

But unknown to Okorodas he was not the biological father of the children for a marriage that lasted for 9 years as evidence point to the fact that his wife has been engaging in extra-marital affairs with another man.

Okorodas said though he and Celia had been separated for about 11 year now it was this year it dawn on him that he was not the biological father of the children after DNA tests were conducted between September, 2020 and January, 2021 as the two tests confirmed that he did not fathered the children.

Okorodas in a press statement issued and made available to newsmen in Yenagoa, said he decided to break his silence and to set the record straight on the calamity that has befallen him in order to dispel damaging speculation, half-truth and outright lies that might likely come from persons who would want to latch on the paternity scandal to present falsehood to the public.

According to him, early last year during coronavirus lockdown he received information from an anonymous source which alleged that the last born of my previous marriage was not my biological child, hence the need to carry out a DNA test to ascertain the authenticity of the information.

The statement reads: ” sometime during the coronavirus lockdown early last year, I received information from an anonymous source that indicated that the last of my previous marriage was in fact not my biological child. But due to the COVID-19 restrictions then, I had to wait until August, 2020 to carry out the DNA test. The DNA result which came out in September, 2020 confirmed that I was not the father of the child.

” Based on the DNA test I had to convene a joint meeting between my extended family on the one side, and Celia’s paternal and maternal families (the Ototo family of Ovom Town and Agbagidi family of Yenagoa Town) on the other side, where I confronted her with the paternity fraud allegation. Although she initially strongly insisted that I was the biological father, she had since confessed to having the child with another man during the course of our marriage.

” This repulsive act of my ex-wife prompted me to conduct DNA tests in respect of the two other children. A few days ago, the results came out. Sadly, none of them is my biological child.”

He maintained that the abominable act of his ex-wife has caused excruciating mental torture to his present wife, Barr.(Mrs.) Ebi Okorodas, adding that his present wife, Ebi agreed to carry out a DNA tests for her four children as the test results confirmed that I am the biological father of the children.

Okorodas further noted that, ” It is important to state that Celia walked away from the marriage when her youngest child (who is now 17 years of age) was just 6 years old. Since then, all of her children have lived with my wife, Ebi and I, and we have been wholly responsible for their well being and education. Friends who ate close to my family would really attest to the fact that unless specifically informed, no one could tell that the children were not the biological children of my present wife.”

He emphasized that despite the DNA test that affirmed that he was not the biological father of the last child, he and his wife has continued to cater for the child’s education in a private boarding school, insisting that they would continue to support the children in whatever way possible.

” The first, a female will be a graduate later this year, and the second will soon enter his 4th year of study. We pray for them to overcome the trauma and become responsible citizens in the society. For Celia and her boyfriend or boyfriends, we leave them to their conscience.”

When contacted through telephone call to have her own side of the story, Barr. Celia Juliet Ototo said that she is not interested in the matter and that she has nothing to say concerning the allegation of paternity fraud.
