Dickson is synonymous with failure and abysmal democratic credentials – APC

The APC Campaign Organization for the Bayelsa West Senatorial bye-election has expressed deep security concerns following unguarded comments and ill-considered opinions by Hon. H. S. Dickson, who opined that “there is no contest” in the forthcoming Senatorial bye-election, stressing that he only has few noise makers.

In a statement signed by the Director General of the campaign outfit, Hon. Ofoni Williams, the group alleges that the said remarks were made by the former Governor of Bayelsa State while receiving members of Bayelsa Lecturers Forum in his home in Toru Orua on the 3rd day of October, 2020. The group indicates that the said comments were also conveyed as news items in several national and local media outfits.

The APC Campaign Organization notes with deep shock, having painstakingly examined the weight of the implications of the said comments credited to a man that is synonymous with failure and abysmal democratic credentials, occasioned largely by the show of what it describes as “administrative ineptitude and inertia” while serving as Governor of Bayelsa State.

According to Hon. Ofoni Williams, the unguarded comments by the erstwhile dictator, who was responsible for the death of several retirees due to his refusal to pay their pension allowances and gratuities as they were considered as expended forces, remain a worrisome trend, suggestively suggesting that Hon. H. S. Dickson has perfected malevolent plans to rig the forthcoming elections and unleash terror on the people.

The group also notes that for a state terrorist, who was responsible for the death of several Amassoma citizens during the NDU industrial brouhaha, to connive with Lecturers who are supposedly seen as potential ad hoc workers of INEC in the forthcoming election, is, by all indications, morally unsound and legally unfit (malum in se and malum prohibitum).

In view of the above, the group has called on all relevant agencies such as INEC, security outfits, etc. to closely monitor the clandestine activities of the erstwhile dictator as he has concluded plans to unleash terror and violence in the forthcoming elections in the state.

Meanwhile, the APC Campaign Organization has enjoined the people of Bayelsa West Senatorial District to massively vote for Rt. Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi due to his friendly disposition and impeccable democratic records. The campaign outfit notes that with the sound track records of Rt. Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi, it believes strongly that he has the capacity and commitment to initiate bills that will attract social economic development and ensure a quantum leap on the quality of lives of its people. It believes that the choice of Rt. Hon. Ebebi is a revolution, targeted at upturning the asymmetrical social order that is characterised by high-handedness, dictatorship and attendant abuse of all due processes. The group avers that a vote for Rt. Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi is a vote for our future, as he has always demonstrated unparalleled penchant for human capital development.
