The Convener of Delta Ijaw APC Agenda, Preye Tambou reminds the contending leaders that Delta APC does not belong to them alone and warns the combatants to put their house in order towards party harmony, desist from inflating disunity in the party and stop troubling the peace of other ethnic group in the Delta APC.
“A house divided against itself cannot stand.”
In this episode, I want to express myself in simple language so that the message may strike home to the minds of men in order to rouse them to the peril of the times in Delta APC.
I am a registered member of Delta APC since 2016; I have never been registered to any other party. Over this time and now I have watched with great sadness how Delta APC has been misruled, mismanaged and misled continuously by some group of persons that reigned supreme in the affairs of the state leadership.
Few days ago, I trance into deep thoughts, worried and eloped in immerse grand awe observing the continuous dissension done to Delta APC. I venture further to know why, who, what, how, where and discovered that all the infighting and divisive politics that affected Delta APC thus far is inflated by just one ethnic group leaders amongst others, to fulfill their personal and ethnic interest.
They have neither shown nor proven to have the interest of other ethnic group that are party faithful in the scream of things that is why they don’t carry others along; they keep sidelining, cheating and shortchanging others in terms of party’s appointments and other benefits; they don’t even believe that other tribes in Delta APC have worthy leaders who deserves appointments too. These are my personal opinion from my personal observation for the years I have been in the party.
Obviously, the divisiveness, friction and confusion in Delta APC caused by these known key players in one ethnicity who are always bent on mishandling the party as if its their impedimenta or personal estate has gotten unbearable.
Just yesterday I read on paper that the National Chairman of the Registration and Revalidation Committee, Abubakar Sani Bello who is also the Governor of Niger State, announced the suspension of the exercise in Delta state, after he sited seeming disagreement amongst the same ethnic leaders of the party in the State, and I whispered to myself ‘this people again!’, when are we going to have rest from them?
Therefore, I was provoked to put this little piece together to tell them that we have heard enough.
In fact, to put it in Warri language, “una katala sef don too much, no be only una dey na”.
I think its high time, the APC national leadership and the other ethnic group in the state should call this group of persons and their sycophant followers to order and remind them that they are not the only ethnic group in Delta APC, the party/state does not belong to them alone, they cannot continue to jeopardise the collective peace of the state inflating unrest to other ethnic group that are party faithful too and dragging others down with them just to achieve their own self-interest.
I don’t need to start listing their names and the ethnic group. They know themselves. If they read this episode, they will know am referring to them. In a critical time like this where they supposed to work together to achieve common goal, party interest first and prepare towards winning elections they are busy fighting themselves and causing dissatisfaction amongst the state as if they are fighting the opposition. They need to examine themselves and turn a good leaf for the sake of peace and oneness of the party. They should be told that just as they have their own interest, others too have theirs; they should learn to desist from using their own to spoil others own and if we can put our collective interest above personal interest and work together we will do great things for our dear party the APC.
Come to think of it, how would party faithful be motivated to revalidate their membership, all Deltans and others be encouraged to join the party as we have been canvassing if this group of persons continue with their divisive politics, power tissues and ethnic jingoism at the detriment of us all? How are we going to win future elections with such divisive mindsets and ethnic colonists? They are even trying hard to buy over the gullible ethnics to join them in their foolish fights. We lost past elections because of the same greedy characters playing divisive politics and sponsoring disunity in the state.
If ordinary revalidation exercise is dividing us in Delta APC, what will be our fate in future elections.
