The Progressive Front of Brass Constituency III, (PFBC) comprises key stakeholders, women, youths and elders across political parties.

The Progressive Front rose from an emergency meeting in Yenagoa on the 25th of July (yesterday), 2022. The (PFBC) extensively discussed the issue of political marginalization and representation. Below is a communique issued at the end of the meeting.

  1. That there are four (4)wards in Brass Constituency Three (3) namely Wards 7, 8, 9 and 10 but only ward 10 has monopolized power since 2012.
  2. That for the past 12 years ( 2012 till date), only ward 10 has monopolized the Brass Constituency three (3), House of Assembly seat under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Indeed, the marginalization of wards 7, 8 & 9 is an insult on the sensibilities of our leaders.

  1. That it is ridiculous that the same person who has enjoyed the perks of office for three tenures as a Law Maker, is vying for a 4th tenure to the exclusion of Wards 7, 8 and 9. This is a breach of of the zoning arrangement that is entrenched in the PDP Constitution. Indeed stakeholders see this action as a negation of inclusive politics, which is one of the ingredients of representative democracy.
  2. That we reject the 4th tenure ambition of Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere because there are eminently qualified people in other wards to represent the Constituency at the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.

  1. That we bemoan the 4th tenure bid of Mr. Abraham Ingobere and we wish to affirm that we shall be willing to vote for any candidate that is capable of representing us across party lines and appeal to the PDP leadership not to see this action as resenting the leadership of Governor Douye Diri.

  1. That whereas the Law maker has not performed optimally, we also wish to state our dissatisfaction with the State PDP leadership, which has not found it necessary to consider wards 7, 8 and 9 for producing the next Assembly member before pushing the 4th tenure agenda of the Speaker.

  1. Finally, we wish to place on record that the 4th tenure bid of the incumbent Speaker has divided the Constituency, as many stakeholders are putting finishing touches on dumping the PDP to seek their political ambition in other platforms. To say the least, the 4th tenure ambition of Mr. Abraham Ngobere is not only insensitive but offensive to the people of Brass Constituency III.
