President Buhari had allegedly Ordered the Immediate Shutdown of all AIT, Raypower Facilities Tonight

The Founder and Chairman Emeritus of DAAR Communications Plc, Raymond Dokpesi, has alleged that its subsidiaries, Africa Independent Television and Raypower FM, will be shut down later tonight by the Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari.

NAIJALIVETV.COM had reports that Dokpesi said this while presenting a protest letter to the American High Commission a few minutes ago in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

This online news platform understands that Dokpesi made this statement in reaction to what he described as the persecution of his companies by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) on instructions from the Presidency.

The DAAR Communications boss said he had received reports of the purported plans by the Presidency to shutdown AIT and Raypower FM.

His words: “So we are here to appeal to the British High Commission, its officials and the British government to please assist and intervene to ensure that there is freedom of speech, that the Nigerian media is able to operate without any type of restraint.

“I hear that already that the Villa has already decided that this evening, AIT and Raypower will be shut down. They are most welcome.

“So we are here to really await the pressure, to await the state that will be taking for expressing our rights, we are here to say this should not happen in a democracy,” he added.
