YENAGOA – The Assistant Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Mr. Amadein Tibiebi, has been arrested for alleged illegal possession of a firearm.
Mr. Tibiebi, a self-styled general and former militant, is currently undergoing interrogation at a police station under the state Command.
NAIJA LIVE TV report that, this arrest is a follow-up to a previous incident in November 2021, where one Richard Okon was arrested for alleged illegal possession of firearms at a wake-keeping ceremony. In a confessional video, Okon claimed to be working with Tibiebi Woinemi Amadein, and the gun belonged to him, who is the nephew and Chief Security Officer to Senator Cleopas Moses who represented Bayelsa Central in the 9th Senate.
Tibiebi was previously invited by the police, but he presented fake licenses and forged documents, and was released due to his connections with the high and mighty in the state PDP and government.
However, a fresh petition to the police led to his current arrest and he is been interrogated for illegal possession of firearm and forgery of firearm license.
Tibiebi has been boastful about being untouchable by law enforcement officials due to his connections with the state PDP executive members and the state government however his “waterloo” has finally caught up with him.
