Dickson and Sylva
ADVERT RATE

The battle between former Security Adviser to the Bayelsa State Government, Chief Perekeme Kpodoh and some supporters of the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva took a new dimension with name callings over the membership status within the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the open endorsement of the immediate past governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson for the Bayelsa West senatorial District poll.

Chief Perekeme Kpodoh while responding to the recent statements issued from the Sylvia’s supporters camp described them as “ill-informed deviants” and “cultists” supporters of the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva over the alleged campaign calumny against him over his fierce criticism of the poor and failed leadership style of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the State.

According to Kpodoh, though it is a fact that those involved in the media attack against him over his poor rating of Chief Timipre Sylva leadership of the party in the state were not members of the party when it was formed and are moved by oath of cultism taken alongside others to become Sylva loyalist in the state.

The Member Representing the good and fabulous characters of Ekeremor Constituency 2 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly under the platform of the APC Hon. Wilson Ayakpo Dauyegha and the State Secretary of the APC, Comrade Alabo Martins had in the last few days lambasted the former Special Adviser to Chief Timipre Sylva on Security Perekeme Richard Kpodoh over his alleged unguarded statement on Chief Timipre Sylva and his endorsement of the immediate Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson.

But Chief Richard Kpodoh in a statement issued in Yenagoa, insisted that those ordered to defend Chief Timipre Sylva are alleged to be known cultists that lacks the reputation of party politics, ”See the caliber of persons directed to embark on media attack against me for raising issues of poor leadership, incompetence and selfishness of Sylva in Bayelsa APC. These are known cultists interested in violence and not discussing issues.”

“One of them attacked the State Chairman of the party at the Port Harcourt Airport and was not suspended or expelled. He was later flogged mercilessly and initiated into a cult group because he aspired to become a principal officer in the state house of Assembly. When the Supreme Court aborted the Party’s victory at the poll, his flogging and aspiration were in vain. What do you expect a cultist to say in defence of his boss.?”

“The other one was also involved in the violent attack against some public properties in the state including the home of the incumbent governor and the immediate past governor. He lost his position in the state civil service because of his cultist activities around the state.”

Chief Kpodoh noted that though it was painful that Chief David Lyon lost his mandate at the supreme court, his administration would have been divided along the line of cultists and progressive loyalists of the party,” while Sylva promoted cultism and violence among his followers, lyon would have been left in the cold. But God saved Bayelsa from these bandits once again.”

Kpodoh noted that both the Member Representing the good and fabulous characters of Ekeremor Constituency 2 in the State House of Assembly, Wilson Ayakpo Dauyegha and the State Secretary of the APC, Comrade Alabo Martins Dauyegha lacked the pedigree to talk about the APC as he was conspicuously absent during the formative years of the party both in the state and the national level.

He wondered where the lawmaker was when he pitched his tent with the chairman of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (NPDP) Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje to partake in all the activities that birthed the APC, ”there was no Sylva and others when we started from under the new PDP. While Baraje was the National Chairman of the nPDP,I was the Bayelsa Chairman of the nPDP with Godsidi as Secretary.”

“I stood firm against all attempts by the Gov. Dickson administration to stop the new party.I hoisted the first flag of the APC in Bayelsa when we metamorphose into the APC. I hoisted the APC flag on my property when others were afraid to be associated with the APC. When I got angry over the divisive handling of the APC leadership by Sylva, I stepped aside. But Sylva led the party to my hotel and begged me.If I am not a member would he have come to beg?”

He also pointed out that the relationship between him and Sylva go above those meddling into issue they know nothing about,” these people are meddlesome interlopers. Where were they when Sylva asked me to be writing in the media to attack former President Goodluck Jonathan? Where were they when he was asking me to hatch plan to embarrass those he had political issues with? Some claimed Sylva made me what I am today, I must tell them, I made Sylva what he is today politically. And as a Former Security adviser, I will soon be provoked to open up in this battle and everyone will know who Sylva truly is.”

Kpodoh said nobody has taken more bullets for Sylva than him but that the former governor, who is now a junior minister, has continued to display abject lack of leadership qualities, “no amount of attacks on his person would stop him from saying the truth that APC would continue to lose elections in Bayelsa until Sylva is stripped of the party’s leadership role”.
I
He insisted that in the forthcoming senatorial bye-election in Bayelsa West, APC under Sylva would not match the political prowess of former Governor Seriake Dickson, who is set to fly the flag of the PDP for the election,” while we were fighting to ensure the growth of the APC in Bayelsa, Sylva introduced divisions, mediocrity and selfishness that had crippled the party and made it a laughing stock in the state”.
