The governor of Imo State, Chief Emeka Ihedioha has lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress over the manner of APC’s victory in the ongoing governorship elections in Bayelsa and Kogi States.

Speaking through his Special Assistant on New Media, Mr AIC Akwarandu, Ihedioha who served on the PDP campaign council for Bayelsa State, decried what he described as; “daylight robbery, violence and anti-democratic incidents that trailed the election.

In several tweets, the governor’s social media Assistant, declared that “Nigerians should be more concerned about the fate of democracy going by what happened in Bayelsa and Kogi States this weekend.”

He blamed President Muhammadu Buhari for organizing what he sees as a sham election, claiming that the APC and Buhari cannot win any free and fair election in the country, as Nigerians have rejected them.

According to him; “President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC have left no one in doubt about their desperation to destroy our nascent democracy. They are enemies of our democracy, and Nigerians must unite to stop them before they destroy our democracy.”

Ihedioha whose declaration as governor-elect is being challenged in court over fraud, non-compliance with electoral guidelines and the most critical issue of not meeting Constitutional requirement is said to be particularly pained over PDP’s loss in Bayelsa, as he shares a very cordial relationship with the outgoing governor, Seriake Dickson, who was his colleague in the House of Representatives.
