The chairman of Bayelsa State vigilante service, Comr. Doubiye Alagba has assured investors and those willing to do business in Bayelsa state to invest their money in any business of their choice, assuring them of adequate security.

He also noted that the vigilante is working in synergy with sister security outfits such as Bayelsa Volunteer Service, the Nigerian Police, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) to rid the society of criminals.

Alagba who spoke to Journalists in his office in Yenagoa revealed that with the prompt payment of salaries by Governor Douye Diri, the service has been motivated and charged in its activities of curbing crime and criminality.

He further said that the recent football tournament for the various cult groups in the state have gone a long way in bringing together those who have not seen eye to eye because of their perceived differences in the past “you are aware that some cultists were not able to cross boundaries beyond their own areas but that singular tournament made them to cross to their enemy territory without any clash”.

The Chairman Vigilante service also used the medium to congratulate the Governor on his victory in the Supreme Court and called on the opposition and Bayelsans to join hands with Senator Douye Diri’s administration in order to ensure that he delivers on his promises of the prosperity agenda.

On the challenges faced by the service occasion by the Covid-19 pandemic, he expressed happiness that the service was equal to the task in nipping in the bud activities of hoodlums who wanted to cash in to commit crime.

“You are aware of how criminals robbed, killed and caused mayhem in other parts of the country, but here in Bayelsa we are living peacefully without any complain of activities of criminals”.

He called on the people to cooperate with the vigilante service about one activities of hoodlums.

“These criminals are not from the sky, they live among us, we should cooperate to give useful information to the service and other security outfit about activities of these criminals”.

Alagba revealed that as part of their activities to support the government in curbing the spread of covid-19 pandemic the service has distributed over 10,000 facemasks and hand sanitizers to public places such as Swali and Opolo markets, Sunky Supermarket, General Supermarket and Market Square among others.
