The Director General of the Izon Tukpa Youth Movement, Comrade Mathew Perekebuna, has called on aggrieved party leaders and members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Bayelsa state to join forces with the Party’s Flag-bearer, His Excellency, Chief Timipre Sylva, and his running mate, Hon. Great Joshua Maciver, to ensure victory at the polls in the forthcoming Bayelsa State Governorship elections scheduled for November 11th.
Calling on all to sheath their swords, Comrade Perekebuna noted that every aspirants was very qualified, but that only one person is required to be a flagbearer of a political party.
The DG’s call is coming as a result of reactions over the outcome of the party primaries, noting that the party has already initiated actions by setting up a reconciliation committee led by a respected leader, Senator JK, to ensure that internal misunderstandings are amicably resolved.
He used the medium to appeal to all the other aspirants to therefore, put perceived grievances before, during, and after the primary election behind them so that they can close ranks and work together for the success and survival of the party to which they all belong and cherish so much as one big family.
Harping on the need to restrategize against the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state who are doing everything humanly possible to retain the Governorship seat they got through the back door in 2019, he implored all party faithfuls to remain hopeful of victory as they continue to canvas support for the Party’s candidates in the forthcoming election and also avail themselves for the reconcilliation process in the party.
According to him, no political party that is crisis-free, particularly after primary elections where those who do not emerge as winner become aggrieved, but true party men quickly resolve their differences and put aside their grievances for the common and greater good of the party.
