Bayelsa State Councillors Forum Chairman 2010/2013, Hon. Adaga Godswill, has applauded the Sylva/Maciver ticket for the November 11 governorship polls in the state.
Hon. Godswill Adaga, said despite so much funds received by the Douye Diri led government through Federal Allocations, IGR, 13% derivations and Paris refunds which amounts to trillions of naira, there are no tangible and concrete prove of usage as the situation of the oil rich state keep deteriorating.
The former Councillors Forum Chairman likened the present Bayelsa state to a farm settlement as a result of the present state of underdevelopment, looking at its poor structural setting, lack of town plan implementation, lack of mentainance and building of more internal Roads withing the municipal city.
He frowned at the current situation of the state whuch includes; no distilling of drinages, no street lights, no transpotation amelioration system, no water reticulation in the State, and above all, lack of vision to achieve all of this because the present Governor of the state, Senator Douye Diri was not prepared for governance when the Supreme courts aired in the Law to his favour.
Describing the situation of Bayelsa as quite unfortunate, the grassroot politician is optimistic that Bayelsans will experience light at the end of the tunnel, by voting out the self acclaimed miracle government.
“Am using this medium to call on my 105 former Councilors to put up thier seat belts and get ready for an issues based campaign across the length and Breadth of Bayelsa for a house to house, Door to Door Campaign and sensitization for the Sylva/MacIver Ticket.
“Critically evaluating the so much funds received by the State through Federal Allocation, IGR, 13% derivation and Paris refunds during the Diri led prosperity administration, which has amounted to trillions of naira without any tangible and concrete prove of usage, with almost all the internal Roads on passable in yenagoa.
“This is why we the grass-roots dwellers have applauded the coming together of the duo to perfect human capacity development and community edification in the ticket of Sylva/Maciver for Governorship come 11th November as the solution to development in the State, as against Governor Diri who prefers selling State owned properties instead of building new ones like the ongoing situation in Rivers state that have led to the demolition of our State owned property,” he said.
“Posterity will not vindicate us if as Bayelsan we cannot stand against the ineptitude of underdevelopment in our dear state”. he added.
