Bayelsa APC Guber Candidate Chief David Lyon felicitated with Teachers on this year’s Teachers day celebration

INTERNATIONAL WORLD TEACHERS DAY:

The Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress in the forthcoming Governorship election in Bayelsa state, Chief David Lyon has felicitated with Teachers in the State on the celebration of this year’s Teachers day celebration billed for Saturday 5th October, 2019.

The APC Gubernatorial candidate who himself was a former teacher express his utmost sympathy on the condition of teachers in Bayelsa State who have not received salary for several months. He promised to reverse the hardship of teachers in the state as soon as he resumes as the Governor of the state.

In a statement signed by his Media Advisers, Chief Gift Ebiki on Saturday notes that such occasions supposed to be celebrated amidst joy, happiness and love. But unfortunately, it has turned to be a gloomy day the teachers in our dear state, orchestrated by the present government that is highly insensitive to the plight of workers generally.

According to Chief David Lyon, he sympathize with the teachers in the state on their present plight. Even the Bible teaches us that sweats of the laborer shall not dry before paying them their wages. As a former teacher, I believe that those benefited enormously from these teachers are the ones that have turned the fortune of teachers to almost nullity by creating abject poverty to the teachers and their families. David Lyon shares with the teachers their grief, promising that his administration right from inception will put education in the forefront, the priority attention and plight of teachers in the schools.

He further assured that he will provide adequately for teachers to train the next generation of leaders that will occupy our public service. He promised to liberate teachers from the present hardship they are facing, and will surely provide for their basic needs for training and retraining and provide for teachers basic amenities that will give them the desired comfort.
