Stakeholders and State Executive Committees of the All Progressive Congress (APC) have yesterday aligned with the National Chairman of the Party, Comrade Adams Oshiomole over the adoption of the direct primaries for the State,National and Presidential primaries of the party.

The decision by the Bayelsa APC, which was taken yesterday at a well attended State Executive Council (SEC) and statekholders sessions presided over by the former Governor, Chief Timipre Sylva and the Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, agreed that the adoption of direct primaries will allow for cohesion and all inclusive participation.

The Former Acting Governor, Hon. Werinipre Seibarugu, who moved the motion for the adoption of direct primaries, seconded by theformer Chief of Staff of Bayelsa Government House, Chief Samuel Ogbuku,said the system willow for party cohesion, cpncesus building and all inclusive system for the party members.

In his speech, the Former Governor of Bayelsa State and Leader of the Party in the State, Chief Timipre Sylva, noted that the APC in Bayelsa State can now boast of quality aspirants vying for the State and National assemblies elections,”and with the quality of candidates we have in APV, compared what the other party produced, “webarw head and shoulder above the PDP. ”

Chief Sylva also pleaded to be made the Director General of the State and National Assemblies campaigns in the 105 wards of the State. The request was automatically granted by the supporters of the party.

The Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri commended the party leaders and supporters for unanimously voting for the Direct system of primaries, ” the direct primaries was adopted to give sense of belonging and it will not allow some persons to hijack the party for personal gains. ”

Lokpobiri also noted that by the decision, the Bayelsa chapter of APC have shown that they can align with the centre and that the party is ready for progress with victories in the 24 seats of State Assembly and the National Assembly seats.

On the issue of governance In Bayelsa, Senator Lokpobiri declared that the people of the State are begging for help. People are Hungary and have become desperate for progress., “before when complaints and cry comes, I answered them that they were reaping what they deserved by voting for the wrong person and party. But now, the suffering is enough. ”

“The people of Bayelsa have suffered enough. The next election will be isedbto send a message that this iisbthe time for our people. To me if we select the right candidate, we will win the State House of assemblies and National Assembly seats. ”

“And look at the State House of Assembly, as a Speaker I know what am saying. I know how an Aseembly should be. We don’t have a State Assembly. The Bayelsa Assemblybis dead. And we also have a dead state government. ”

He called on APC members in the State tobreach out to indigenes of their communities that the Bayelsa State Government have allegedly incurred a debt of 810billion with the sum of 1.2trillion,”tell your people that Gov. Dickson has mortgage the State with debts of N810billion and the sum of 1.2trillion recoeved from the Federal government”

“Apart from the borrowed money, it is only an overhead bridge is seen in Yenagoa without leading anywhere but an ocean. They claimed to have spent over N80billiom on a cargo airport but when I spoke with the minister of Aviation, he said such money would have built five airports in Bayelsa.”

Lokpobiri also alleged that the sum of N1.2trillion have been received from the Federal Government by the administration of Governor. Seriake Dickson, “This is excluding the allocations that have come to the Local Government Councils”
