Leadership and members of the Adiegbe Community of Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State have sent a warning letter to the management of the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC), the Oil Pipeline Surveillance companies, Dalon Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited and the Tantita Security Service Limited and the Bayelsa State Government over the activities of some unscrupulous persons at impersonating the Paramount ruler of the Community, HRH Benedict Thompson and the Community’s Youth leadership, particularly, the Woman Leader and the Youth President, to divert monies, emoluments and rights meant for the community and it’s people.

According to the Community, the allege unscrupulous elements purportedly led by the Former CDC Chairman, Selebi Sanuku have cost the community series of diversion of funds meant for the Indigenes of the community.

They declared that the Former CDC Chairman, Selebi Sanuku,who is no longer in charge of the affairs of the community dealings, was dropped due to gross misconduct and that any dealings with him and others is criminal, null and void.

The Adiegbe Community, in a statement signed by the Chairman,Community Development Committee (CDC),Comrade Tony March, Stayed that “we want to point out that despite repeated warnings and court actions subsisting before the competent court of jurisdiction, the Ekeremor High Court in suit number EHC/21/2021 and Security agencies, the Department of State Security (DSS) and the Nigerian Police Force, the culprits have failed to desists and the companies involved have continued to patronize these fake individuals.”

“We warn that the last payment made at about 10am on the 22nd of December,2022 and mysteriously taken away to those impersonators should immediately be remitted back to the Adiegbe Development Community account domicile at the United Bank of Africa (UBA) for onward distribution to bonafide Indigenes of the community.”

“Also the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) should be aware that the encroachment money that is supposed to be paid to the Community have been diverted by these impersonators. Agip should be informed that the money did not get to the community.”

“We hereby, by this final notice,warned that the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC), the Dalon Oil and Gas Service Limited, should deal directly with the community through the Paramount Ruler, HRH Benedict Thompson and the Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman, to avoid further litigation and crisis in the area.”

“We also call on the Bayelsa State Government and the Nigerian Police and the DSS to call those involved in the cases of impersonation to order to avoid breakdown of law and order in the community”.
