A group under the aegis of the Nationalists Movement has commiserated with Former President Goodluck Jonathan over the unfortunate road accident incident that claimed the life of two gallant police officers attached to him. 

NAIJA LIVE TV reported that, the Former Nigerian President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has also expressed sadness over the death of the two police officers attached to him in the crash on Wednesday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, while on his way out of the facility.

The former President, who described the incident as painful and heart-rending, stated that the death of the two security personnel had thrown him into deep mourning.

National Coordinator and Secretary of the Nationalists movement, Engr. Robinson Abidde and Andrew Aondona Agbaya respectively in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja, the Group also call on President Muhammadu Buhari to quickly increase the security network around the Ex-President as he continues to work for the unity and stability of the Nation.

The group, While thanking the almighty God for sparing the life of Ex-President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan in the car crash that claimed the life of his two security orderlies, also mourn with families of victims of insecurity, banditry, terrorists attacks, kidnappings in various parts of our country and commend the untiring efforts of governments and security forces at all levels towards arresting the sad and ugly trend in our society. 

The Statement read;

“The Nationalists Movement, on behalf of millions of well meaning and concerned Nigerians and friends of Nigeria receive with rude shock, news of a fatal accident involving the convoy of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in Abuja on Wednesday evening which led to the death and injury of some of his personal aides”.

“While thanking the almighty God for sparing the life of H.E. Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for yet another national assignment to fatherland, we commiserate with him and especially the immediate families for this great and irreparable loss, and pray that God will grant the departed eternal rest”.

“We use this Lenten and Ramadan period to call on all Nigerians of goodwill to deeply reflect while praying for the continued unity, peace, security and stability of our country”.

“We mourn victims of insecurity, banditry, terrorists attacks, kidnappings in various parts of our country and commend the untiring efforts of governments and security forces at all levels towards arresting this sad and ugly trend in our society”.

“We are calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently increase the security network around Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as we also urge all Nigerians to remain committed to the national cause and be our brothers’ keepers”.
