The All Progressives Congress, (APC), yesterday 12th November 2019 rounded up its campaigns for the 16th November governorship election with a grand finale at the Ox-Bow Lake pavilion in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.

BAYELSA APC GRAND FINALE RALLY: Guber Candidate Hon. David Lyon Promise Better Life For Bayelsans

While addressing the mammoth crowd that defied the heavy downpour to be at the event, the Honourable Minister of Petroleum Resources for state and a former governor of the state, Chief Timipre Sylva lampooned the PDP government for its grand larceny. He reeled out figures that has accrued to the state under the current PDP administration in the state, saying there’s nothing on ground to justify the huge revenue inflow of about N1.6 Trillion the state has received.

Sylva, who castigated the Dickson led administration, said the airport built by the outgoing governor is about the most expensive airport in the world at the cost of 92 billion Naira. According to Sylva, the reason why the airport cannot be licensed for operation is because it does not conform with the aviation industry standard, saying the tarmac is poorly built.

He noted that the Dickson-led government had through the Bayelsa Airline Limited, collected several loans. “Dickson has taken Bayelsans for a ride, he is desperate. We have all the records” he said, referring to the numerous loans collected by Dickson.

“BAYELSANS, I AND MY TEAM WILL NEVER DISAPPOINT YOU” – DAVID LYON

According to Sylva, the PDP candidate, Douye Diri is a cousin to Gov. Seriake Dickson while his deputy, Lawrence  Ehrudjakpor did all the dirty jobs for Dickson as his commissioner for works. Sylva went further to adduce reasons for  Dickson’s desperation to make the duo  of Douye Diri/ Lawrence Ehrudjakpor take over from him, saying it is for the sole purpose of covering up the monumental financial sleaze that he has perpetrated while in office.

Sylva extolled the qualities of the APC candidate, David Lyon and his deputy, Bishop Degi Eremienyo, saying David Lyon is the real breath of fresh air, while his deputy is an astute administrator. He accused the PDP of unleashing violence on Bayelsans and using some people within its rank to go to court, but assured the party supporters of victory.

On his part, the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole described David Lyon as a unifier and a very respectful man, whose emergence has unified the various interest groups in the state and the Ijaw nation.

The event witnessed the endorsement of the APC candidate by a group of ex-agitators, led  by Ebikabowei Ben Victor a.k.a Boyloaf and 20 political parties, represented by Williams Ifidi. According to Mr. Ifidi, they have analysed the manifestos of both the APC and PDP and their candidates and have arrived at the conclusion that the APC candidate is the best choice for Bayelsa, thus the reason for their endorsement.

While addressing the mammoth crowd that gathered at the Ox-Bow lake pavilion, the APC candidate, David Lyon promised not to disappoint Bayelsans when voted into office. He said tackling the spate of insecurity in the state would be his priority, as security is the fulcrum of development. He noted with dismay the grand thievery that has characterised the PDP administration in the state, promising to develop the state with the resources of the state.

He also paid glowing tributes to the former president, Goodluck Jonathan, Pa E. K. Clark as well as High Chief Government Ekpemupolo a.ka Tompolo for their roles in the development of the Ijaw nation.

Dignitaries at the event include the Chairman, APC National Campaign  Council and the Jigawa state Governor, Badaru Abubakar, Osun state governor, Gboyega Oyetola, Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, and the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief  Godswill Akpabio,
