The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), has distanced itself from an ongoing Scholarship alleged to come from the board.

In a Press Release made available to newsmen on Thursday by Mr Freston Akpor, SA Media to the Interim Administrator, PAP described the ongoing Scholarship scheme as “fake” saying that it has not “resume the award of fresh Scholarships.”

PAP also reiterated that it will inform the public using the appropriate channels when its scholarship scheme recommences.

“The attention of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) has been drawn to a fraudulent message being circulated in the social media space, notifying persons of a scholarship award and inviting unsuspecting individuals to attend a fake verification exercise.

“The PAP wishes to refute this message and categorically states that no such communication has been released by the PAP and advises all stakeholders and members of the public to disregard any such message.

“The PAP has established channels via which it puts out information and urges all stakeholders and the general public to be wary of fraudulent messages such as this.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the PAP is yet to resume award of fresh scholarships.

“Nonetheless, the public will be duly notified through the appropriate relevant channels when the scholarship award programme recommences,” the statement read.

PAP’s response came after fraudulent messages concerning Presidential Amnesty Programme Scholarship circulated in the social media space.
