WATCHDOGS RAISE ALARM OVER DEADLY CLASHES IN PAKISTAN-ADMINISTERED KASHMIR ELECTIONS

Watchdogs have raised concern over increasing reports of deadly clashes during regional elections in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, where a banned activist group has boycotted the polls and staged protests.

The violence, which erupted earlier this week, involved clashes between police and protesters.

Leaders of the Joint Awami Action Committee said the unrest claimed the lives of more than 30 people across the region.

The reports have heightened concerns over security and the conduct of the regional elections.
