Yenagoa – Oporoma – Ekowe Road and Nembe – Brass Road all Captured in the 2019 NDDC Budget —- Prof. Brambaiyefa assures as Bayelsa elders Consultative council meet in Yenagoa

…..SAYS HE HAS NO POLITICAL AMBITION TO VIE FOR ANY ELECTIVE OFFICE BUT TO SERVE THE NIGER DELTA PEOPLE

The Ag. MD/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Prof. Nelson Brambaifa has assured the people of Bayelsa state, especially the dwellers of the interior axis of the state that the Commission under his watch is poised to bring the much needed infrastructure and Development to the state. Brambaifa was responding to demands made to his office by Paramount Rulers and respected elders from across the state under the aegis of Bayelsa Elders Consultative Council.

In his speech, Brambaifa states that his office unlike a governor is not limited by any Political association, and I am not nursing any political ambition of whatever nature, therefore I have the zeal and will to only work for the improvement of the Niger Delta, for which I am appointed by the President. Brambaifa used the fora to urge the various Niger  Delta state governor tharefore, to look beyond all political sentiments and join hand for the development of the region, expressing that for him, he can not play politics with his job of making the lives of the ordinary people better.

The Ag. MD informed the elders and traditional rulers that the poise to make the impact of the Commission felt in Bayelsa state which is his primary Constituency is of uttermost importance to him, and assured that Bayelsa under his stewardship will not take back seat, even though he is sworn to provide even Development of the region without sentiments. However, he has ensured that because of their importance as Economic hubs, and the associated capital involvement he has personally ensured that the Yenagoa -Oporoama-Ekeowei road project, as well as the Nembe – Brass road projects, together with other viable projects are all captured in the 2019 budget of the Commission. These are very huge projects that are also capital intensive that warrants the dedicated attention of the NDDC, if only the State Government is willing to corporate with us. 

Also, the Commission has just recently provided various post graduate scholarships for Bayelsans to study both within and outside of the shores of the country. In the same vein, to support the education in the region, his administration has concluded plans to rebuild and renovate delapidated school buildings and provide such education support projects and Programmes as the Commission deem necessary within available resources from time to time.

Prof. Brambaifa thanked the elders and rulers for the time in the meeting and promise to submit to their wise counsels in order to leave an indelible foot-print as the most successful Administration.

Speaking earlier the Chairman of the Bayelsa Elders Consultative Council, extol the leadership charisma of the MD, and express the happiness of the region that greeted the news of Brambaifa’s appointment. they thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for the choice of Brambaifa as MD of the NDDC, and prayed God’s guidance for the MD and the wisdom to conduct the affairs of the Niger Delta satisfactorily in other to bring about the much needed Development to the region.
