We would Unite Nembe for Diri/Lawrence, PDP Nembe Women Leaders Assures

Women leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party from all the Wards in Nembe Local Government Area have thrown their weight of support behind the Gubernatorial candidate, Senator Douye Diri and his running mate, Senator Lawrence Ehwurujakpo, saying that the decision of the Party to choose the duo was the right and best decision that would take Bayelsa State to greater heights.

 The first lady of Nembe said that the people of Nembe are solidly behind Senator Diri owing to the fact that the entire State cannot be ridiculed into days of backwardness and stagnation.

The women leaders led by the wife of the Chairman- Nembe Local government, Mrs Alalibo West, made the statement when they paid a courtesy visit to the wife of the Gubernatorial candidate of the Party, Mrs. Gloria Diri in Yenagoa.

“Governor Seriake Dickson has set a very good precedence in every sector, and that is because we the Nembe women saw that he was chosen by God and we supported him, now we would do the same to ensure that Senator Diri, another man that is fit to govern the State, would emerge winner come November 16”.

“As women and mothers, if we fold our hands this period, our husbands and children would take the wrong decision of voting for Party’s that mean no good for the State, so we would speak up, we would sensitized, we would mobilize, until our preferred candidate emerges as the winner, irrespective of the uproar in some communities in Nembe, we would ensure that normalcy is restored”, Mrs. Alalibo said.

Responding, the wife of the Gubernatorial candidate of the PDP, Mrs. Diri, received the women with so much joy and expressed gratit6to them for keying into the vision and supporting her in this political time.

She urged them to be steadfast, resilient and prayerful above all, adding that the future of Nembe and the entire State for the next 4 years is in their hands. 

The meeting had in attendance the wife of the Gubernatorial candidate, Senator Douye Diri,  wife of the Chairman Nembe Local Government Area, Mrs. Alalibo West, and wife of the Commissioner for Education and Director Media and Publicity-Diri/Lawrence campaign Organisation, Engr. (Mrs.) Ann Jonathan Obuebite , amongst others.
