“We Never Promised Defecting Bayelsa APC Members Slots, Mere Lies by Attention Seekers” – Tantita

The Management of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (Bayelsa Operations) under the leadership of Great Joshua Maciver has dismissed allegations in a social media post that it is promising APC members chances so that they will not leave the Party for the PDP ahead the November governorship polls in the state.

This was contained in a Statement dated 26/04/2023 and titled ‘ON THE ISSUE OF SLOTS TO PARTY DEFECTORS: Tantita Security Services Nig. Ltd (Bayelsa Operations) position to such degrading and disparaging post.”

The Press Statement signed by the Chief of Staff to the State Coordinator, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (Bayelsa Operations), Timi-Igoli Timi, said the Security Company is not also promising chances to a would-be defector(s) into the APC.

The Bayelsa Operations noted that Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited is a corporate entity with its headquaters in Delta State and that its workforce has no “political leaning” but engages whoever found competent and suitable in the execution of its contractual mandate.

Calling on Bayelsans to disregard the allegations, the Security Company said there has never been any communication between the State Coordinator and defected APC member(s) to remain in the APC with a promise of slots in the company. It therefore sees the allegation as tactics used by attention seekers who are leaving the APC for the PDP.

“The attention of the management of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (Bayelsa Operations) has been drawn to a mischievious facebook publication made by one Ebi Alhaji Iseridikoghen in respect to the defection of certain members of the All Progressive Congress in Bayelsa State which reads thus: “On hearing that we are leaving for the PDP, our APC leaders started calling and promising us Tantita and NDDC slots.”

“In the light of the above, it is imperative to point out the following:

1) That, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited is a corporate entity with its headquaters in Delta State.

“2) That, it is a registered private security company saddled with the responsibility of securing oil and gas installations, and bring to a halt all issues of illegal oil bunkering activities in the Niger Delta region.

“3) That, the work force of the Security outfit is devoid of any political leaning and as such, whosoever that is found competent and suitable in the execution of its contractual mandate is engaged.

“Now, on the issue of chances to a would be defector(s); not only that the so called defecting members are unknown to the State Coordinator of the security outfit but it is imperative to state here that, Great Joshua MacIver is the only person responsible for the engagement of person(s) into the company in the State, and there has never been any communication whatsoever between the State Coordinator and the said defected APC member(s), especially with respect to pacify them with chances in the company to remain in the party.

“That the State Coordinator, despite being a Party man can never at any point in time reduce his personality and that of Tantita Security Services to engage in such a petty and infinitesimally irrelevant issue.

“Hence, it was a rude shock and a public embarassment to the State Coordinator, Great Joshua MacIver when news filtered into the social media space regarding slots and defection. The security outfit consider the said degrading and disparaging post not only as misleading and derogatory but a common tactics used by attention seeking defector(s) who intend to price themselves beyond tangible political relevance.

“As a dedicated and focused Security company that has proven its worth to the Nation since the commencement of activities, it therefore important to also use this medium to call on all well-meaning Bayelsans to disregard this ridiculous statement and focus on joining hands with the company in putting to an end the ugly menance of illegal bunkering activities and pipeline vandalism that has destroyed our environment and adversely affected the economic well-being of Bayelsa State and the Nation at large,” the statement read.
