The Deputy Governor, State of Osun, Mr Benedict Alabi, has again sensitised Nigerians on the need to always adhere strictly to COVID-19 preventive measures, in order to prevent spike in the number of cases.

Alabi, who doubles as Chairman of COVID-19 Task Force in the state, also appealed to Nigerians to eschew violent acts and any other activities capable of causing palpable tension and instability in the polity.

He gave the charge on Sunday, at the Archdeaconry anniversary thanksgiving of St John’s Anglican Church, Ikire, in Irewole Local Government Area of Osun.

The State Deputy Governor, who was flanked by his wife, Oyefunke Alabi, called on Nigerians to be more grateful to God, who keep them safe and alive from the myriads of challenges facing the country and the world at large in the outgoing year .

Alabi, specifically appreciated God for protecting the people against the spread of the coronavirus and other security challenges plaguing the nation, as he advised parents to continue to train their children to be God fearing.

Speaking on the economic advantage in Ikire, base on the proximity of the town to a cosmopolitan city of Ibadan, in Oyo State, and it’s strategic location as a ‘transit’ town in the region, Alabi averred that the people must be united to be able to explore such opportunities.ALSO READ:  Ikire Mayhem; Soldiers Return To Barack

“The love for one another and spirit of communalism, with genuine intention to move our community to greater height should be our major consideration as a people”, Alabi admonished.
