Tension In Delta As Gunmen Attack Warri Prison, Free Inmates

There is heavy shootout at the Warri Correctional Centre also known as Okere Prison in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was learnt that some hoodlums reportedly attacked the prison and freed some inmates at the Correctional Centre.

It was gathered that there is chaos along the popular Okere Road in Warri where the prison is located.

Residents of the area told NAIJA LIVE TV that the armed security operatives are currently engaging the hoodlums in a shootout.

It is not clear if any casualty has been recorded as a result of the incident but it was gathered that tens of inmates have escaped from the prison.
