Former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State, His Excellency (Chief) Timipre Marlin Sylva, has expressed shock and sadness over the passing of former acting Governor of Bayelsa State, H.E (Right Hon.) Nestor Binabo.
In a personally signed letter made available to the Press by his Special Assistant On Media and Public Affairs, Julius Bokoru, the APC standard flag-bearer described the loss as colossal and one of profound magnitude, especially in the politics of Bayelsa state.
He said ”We have lost one of our titans, and while we are stunned, pained and thrown in utter helplessness we believe that God makes these decisions.
”He left positives marks in the politics of our state, in governance and, ultimately, in the development of The Glory of All Lands and Nigeria.
”I commiserate with the Binabo family as they mourn, losing a patriarch is always a shattering experience. We will pray, mourn, stand and support them as they deal with this steep time.
”The family should be consoled by the fact they gave to Bayelsa and Nigeria a man of the finest qualities who blessed society positively and gave noble account of himself,” he added.
H.E (Right Hon.) Nestor Binabo was an Acting Governor of Bayelsa State from January to February 2012.
He was also a Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly and served two tenures (8years) representing Sagbama Constituency 2.
Right Hon. Nestor Binabo hailed from Okumbiri Community in ward Eleven, Sagbama LGA of Bayelsa state.
