Suspected ‘Yahoo boy’ caught trying to behead lover for rituals in Bayelsa [PHOTOS]

A female student of the Niger Delta University (NDU) was on Tuesday rescued from her suspected Yahoo boy lover while he was attempting to behead her for money ritual purposes along Setraco Road in Ogobiri Community in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

According to community sources, the suspect whose name is yet to be ascertained had lured the victim into dating him with money for about a month before he tricked her to follow him to the isolated area where he tied her hands and legs with ropes and tried to cut her neck with a knife.

Eyewitnesses said a resident with knowledge of his plans alerted youths of Ogobiri Community who also informed the Police. He was secretly tracked and was caught.

It was further revealed that the suspect has since been handed over to the Nigeria Police for further investigation while his victim has been rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

When contacted to confirm the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), SP Asinim Butswat, said he was “waiting for details from Operation Doo Akpor.”
