Shell Plc has reached an agreement to sell its Nigerian onshore oil assets to a consortium of local companies for a price surpassing $1.3 billion.

Pending government approval, this move aligns with Shell’s strategic aim to exit the demanding operational landscape of the Niger Delta region.

In addition to the initial sale amount, Shell expects to receive extra payments, potentially totalling up to $1.1 billion.
