TRIBUTE TO GOD’S GIFT FOR IJAW NATION

The death of Professor Kimse Okoko is a monumental loss, as we have lost a veritable asset and an uncommon Jewel in Niger Delta and Ijaw Nation in particular. His demise is synonymous to a giant fish that left his oceanic habitation when he is very much relevant and most likely irreplaceable for a very long time.

The octogenarian was an educationist per excellence, who has his footprint and handwriting in the country’s academic sphere as a Professor of university of Port Harcourt, and until his death, the Pro-chancellor of university of Uyo.

Professor Okoko as a Nationalist and an Activist, was fearless and bold to his purpose when tackling issues affecting his people, (Niger Deltans). He served the oil rich Niger Delta region meritoriously as a two term President of Ijaw National Congress, INC, between the years 2000 and 2007.

Let say without mincing words that the Kimse Okoko led INC was so formidable, feared, iconic and commands huge respect within and beyond Ijaw Nation and the Niger Delta region. The Organization under his watch was highly spirited that when INC roar, even the Nigerian State panic and bow.

Nevertheless, his deliberate instigation and organization of symposia, lectures, conferences and visionary policy making to foster and engineer development in Ijaw Nation and Niger Delta in general made him an exceptional political scientist of our time.

Professor Kimse Okoko, we Love You, but God Loves You the More.

Signed;
Comrade Samson O Ajagbini, President Foundation for Ijaw Youth Empowerment, FIYE.
