
The Delta State Police Command has arrested a group of suspected criminals believed to be behind a series of armed operations in Delta, Rivers, and parts of the eastern region of Nigeria.
The suspects include 21-year-old Idrisu Yakubu, 40-year-old Bello Amodu, and 38-year-old Umar Mohammed.
According to a post by the Delta Police Spokesperson, Bright Edafe, the trio is reportedly part of a gang that has been involved in armed attacks across the region.
During the operation that led to their arrest, police recovered a cache of weapons, including one AK-47 rifle and a pump-action gun.
Edafe’s post reads: “The Command have arrested a 21-year-old male suspect, Idrisu Yakubu, Bello Amodu, aged 40 years, and Umar Mohammed, aged 38 years. The gang operates in Delta, Rivers state and some parts of the east. One AK-47 rifle, one pump-action gun were recovered from them.
“The command also recovered an English pistol, Pump pump-action gun, locally made gun from a 53-year-old suspect named Benjamin Benemor.”
