Our Response To The Niger Delta Watchdogs and Coalition of Niger Delta Agitators over Threat of Vacation from The Region – Oduduwa

We are compelled to react in view of the released statement dated 13th January,  2019 widely circulated in the media credited to General John Dukku of the Niger Delta Watchdogs speaking on behalf of the Coalition of Niger Delta Agitators and others, demanding for the outright vacation of all Northern and Yoruba clans residing within the Niger Delta region in view of the eventual winning of the 2019 presidential election of 16th February, 2019 and swearing in of President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29 2019, also specifically grudged on  ongoing CCT trial filed by the Federal Government against Hon. Justice Walter Onnoghen, the Chief of Federal Republic of Nigeria, whom is of the Niger Delta extractions,  it is on this premise we equally condemn in its entirety the approach laced with premeditated attempt to forcefully remove the CJN from office, without due diligence and lawful prerequisite process in extant violation of the constitution and laid down legal principles, hence our demand for the immediate demand to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami SAN to enter into a Nolle Prosequi(For the Discontinuance and Quashing the ongoing legal proceedings and trials before the CCT, based on doctrine of necessity aimed at enthroning the rule of law, protecting the nation from imminent disintegration and national security. 

However, we are displeased with the statement predicated on the premise that all issues raised by the Agitators are real but not limited to the Niger Delta region alone, but is a matter of mutual concern and national interests, especially on the issue of the failing economy, security challenges and terrorism, infrastructure deficits, education downturn and chagrin infractions and nepotistic appointments at various points in time, precipitating ethno religious tension and counter reactions, hence we feel concerned as stakeholders in the national development and peace building,  for no one will be insulated of the consequential  grave dangers, for such threats  portends a divisive move to cause total breakdown of law and order, while we demand  the Agitators should apply due caution at this critical period of our national lives, hence our damand for an all inclusive national discuss before the 2019 general elections.

We equally want to call on the Niger Deltans to look inwardly on areas of synergy rather than considering the other regions as enemies.

We are using this medium to summon an emergency Yoruba Summit in view of the ongoing happenings which requires all stakeholders including the Executive, Legislature and the Judiciary, alongside all Royal Fathers and leaders of thoughts,  the student union and youth leaders of the yoruba extractions possibly next week in ibadan, Oyo State, details we be passed accordingly in this regard. 

We hereby advise that all Nigerians should embrace each other as equals without any iota of hatred nor ethnic biased and evil intents.

We hope to ensure justice is manifestesly seen to be done in Hon Justice Walter Onnoghen’s case, while hoping to address all other burning issues of mutual interests soon, while we call for calm and truce among all citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria irrespective of ethnic background, religion and political affiliations. 

We have emphatically spoken.
