1. An early morning inferno on Saturday burnt three children to death in Ado village, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Report said the fire started at about 6:30 am but the cause could not be ascertained as of the time of this report.

2. A presidential aspirant on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prof. Iyorwuese Hagher, has described President Muhammadu Buhari as a sadist, whose three and half years in office has been nothing short of embarrassments to the nation.

According to him, the North including the Fulani ethnic group, are embarrassed by his cluelessness and abysmal failure in fulfilling his campaign promises.

3. Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the Minister for Information and Culture, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) would win the 2019 general elections as there is no viable opposition to the party.

The minister said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), that would have provided a “kind of opposition” is in disarray.

4. Elder statesman, Edwin Clark, says he has forgiven those who invaded his house over alleged stockpiling of firearms.

Clark said he decided to forgive them in the interest of peace and the fact that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris had apologised.

5. The Super Eagles yesterday claimed their first three points in the race to qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, after they defeated Seychelles 3-0 in Victoria on Saturday with goals from Ahmed Musa, Odion Ighalo, Chidozie Awaziem.

Nigeria went into the game with no point in Group E, having lost their first fixture 2-0 to South Africa in Uyo last year.

6. About 5,000 members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Umuahia South local government area of Abia State, Saturday, dumped the party for the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

The defected APGA members were led into the PDP by the former Umuahia South local government candidate of APGA in the December 2016 council election in Abia State, Chief Nkemakolam Ogenna.

7. Ahmed Abdulfatah, Governor of Kwara State, has picked up the nomination form for the Kwara South Senatorial District.

He is seeking to contest on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

8. The Nigerian Air Force has said the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, has successfully destroyed some Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) facilities and equipment at Alafa Yagayaga in Sambisa forest.

According to the Air Force, ATF has also destroyed a suspected BHT ammunition depot in Kusuma on the fringes of Lake Chad, Borno.

9. A former Sokoto State Governor, Attahiru Bafarawa has stressed that President Muhammadu Buhari can’t fix Nigeria’s problems even in 20 years.

Bafarawa insisted that Buhari has no business in politics because he did not possess the leadership expertise to boost the country’s economy.

10. Popular rapper, Malcolm James McCormick, better known as Mac Miller has died of a reported overdose of hard drugs.

He was reportedly found in his Studio City home in California, United States of America on Friday.
