Nembe-Brass road project is just a ploy to get our votes, Diri’s ex-aide Numonyo David insists

Brass—A former Technical Assistant to the Bayelsa State Governor on Art and Craft, Hon. Numonyo David has insisted that the Brass-Nembe road under construction is a ploy to get support from the Nembe-Brass people for Governor Douye Diri’s re-election bid.

According to him, the road will be well constructed to Brass when Chief Timipre Sylva takes over from Senator Douye Diri after the November poll.

David who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) accompanied a former Technical Adviser to Governor Diri on Special Duties (Bayelsa East), Hon. Nathaniel Ngo Sylva and other party stakeholders where they met with the people of Twon Brass.

In an interview with our correspondent on Friday, David, who is fondly called Authentic, disclosed that the visit was principally to inform the people of Brass about the forthcoming election and the need to vote for Sylva.

He expressed confidence that Brass people will massively vote for Sylva whom he described as a worthy kinsman.

In his words, “Sylva is their own. They will not hesitate or contemplate who they will vote for in the forthcoming governorship election.

“Their vote is non-negotiable and nobody should be deceived. Brass votes will not go to another candidate. That is why they came out en masse and welcomed us warmly.

David stated that Sylva during his time as governor facilitated several capital projects and empowerment packages to the people of Brass local government.

According to him, Sylva when elected governor will execute the shore protection project of the Brass Island, which according to him is a fundamental problem of the Brass people.

“There is a fundamental problem that the Brass people have which is shore protection and the people have come to the realization having looked at it holistically that Sylva’s emergence as governor will quel and or mitigate it.

“The Brass-Nembe road under construction is a scam. The project is just a ploy to get our votes. The reality is that that road will be well constructed to Brass when Sylva takes over from Diri

He called on the people of Brass to come out in the numbers to vote for Sylva, assuring that the poll would be peaceful with Sylva emerging the winner.
