The Managing Director/CEO of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Samuel Ogbuku (Ph.D), in company of the Executive Director Project (EDP), Mr. Charles Ogunmola, the Director of Corporate Affairs, Dr. Ibitoye A. Abosede and others, was on Friday, at Obuama community, hometown of Alhaji (ALABO) Mujahid Asari Dokubo.

The entourage was on a tour to inspect the KIO AMA/OBUAMA INTERNAL ROAD (LOT 2) in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The NDDC team who were warmly welcomed by the Elders and Chiefs of Obuama Community, took time to brief/intimate the people about the Agenda of the new Board and solicited the total support of all stakeholders in the region.

While speaking, the former Leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force (NPVF), Asari Dokubo, said he was humbled by the visit and pleaded the ongoing projects be completed.

“I am humbled by this visit. When I was in the most critical stage of my life, I always remember those who stand by me. I’m not going to ask anything from you because the community is already saturated with NDDC projects, like the shore protection project and the 6-kilometer road construction.

“As the chiefs have rightly said, we will appreciate it if these projects are completed,” said Asari.

Dr. Ogbuku promised to ensure the speedy completion of the ongoing Road and other genuine projects.

Also, in his speech, Chief Kio Stanley Dick Harry, Chairman Obuama Council of Chiefs thanked NDDC and pleaded that such visits to the community should continue.

“We thank you for paying this impromptu courtesy visit. You can see that though it was impromptu, the place is full. We welcome you, and we hope this will not be the only visit to our community.“
