Man breaks bottle, stabs best friend to death

A beer parlour joint recently became a passage to the grave for one Amos Ayoola Ajayi who was stabbed to death by his friend at the bar located in Irona area of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital. 

Reports have it that, the suspect was the deceased’s best man during his wedding in 2014, an argument broke out between them at the beer parlour during which the suspect suddenly broke a bottle and stabbed the victim multiple times. 

It was gathered that the incident happened on Sunday afternoon and the suspects fought with the deceased over the sum of thirty naira before killing him.

Witnesses said the argument had already been resolved and Ajayi had taken his seat to continue with his beer unknown to him that his friend had gone to break a bottle, with which he stabbed him on several places, including his neck.

Though Ajayi was rushed to the hospital, it was late as he gave up the ghost.

The suspected killer, according to witnesses, has been arrested by the police, but the police spokesperson in Ekiti State, ASP Sunday Abutu, has declined comment on the matter.
