ADVERT RATE

A former Chairman of Yenagoa Local Government Area in Bayelsa State, Mr. Chubby Ben-Walson, yesterday dragged the Bayelsa state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to a High Court, sitting in Yenagoa, the state capital, for failure to pay outstanding eight years rent for a property used as the party secretariat.

The outstanding rent, according to him, is totaling N85 million. At the hearing of the suit in Yenagoa, counsel to the former chairman, Kelvin Ejelonu, lamented that the PDP, which was not represented in court by a counsel, had been served the court notice since March 27, adding that the time they had to file their response to the processes had long expired. But, in his ruling, Justice T. I. Cocodia, urged the complainant to give the PDP another chance to enable them to file their response and be served the hearing notice.
