A lady simply identified as Mrs. Nwana Nkiruka has narrated her ordeal in the hands of her gateman who masterminded the fire outbreak that destroyed properties worth thousands of naira in her house along Ebony Road, Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Narrating her ordeal to NAIJA LIVE TV, Mrs. Nwana said she was out of town but immediately returned the day after because of a distress call she received from an apartment along Ebony Road, about her house being gutted by fire.
NAIJA LIVE TV gathered that the domestic staff identified as Gift Patrick masterminded the fire outbreak in the parking store and absconded with his employer’s valuables after being paid his February salary.
According to his employer, Nwana Nkiruka, she was out of town but on her return, her parking store was completely burnt and valuables worth thousands of naira, that were supposed to be in ashes, were missing.
Nwana described the experience as “incredible and wicked” and called on the relevant security agencies to arrest and prosecute the suspect.
“That picture (pointing at a photograph) is that of my gateman. I travelled and immediately he set fire at my parking store after stealing valuables worth thousands of naira and ran away after I had paid him his salary for the month of February. This is wickedness. It is only God that can deliver us from acts of people these days”.
“On the 22 February I travelled and all of a sudden I got a distress call that there was fire outbreak in my house. When I came back the next day, I discovered that some things were missing and the store was completely burnt down”.
“When I asked, he said he didn’t know what happened; that he just saw fire coming out from the house and I asked him how could fire just start coming out like that but he couldn’t give me any reasonable answer”.
“The most surprising thing is that he ran away immediately I paid him his February salary. I immediately knew he knows what happened. It is incredible”, the lady concluded.
