Today, Thursday, 5th December 2019, I joined many Nigerian leaders to attend the funeral service of a great Statesman, Gen Mobolaji Johnson, First Military Governor of Lagos State (1967-1975) at Methodist Church National Cathedral, Yaba, Lagos. One cannot but l remind ourselves of how the Yorubas venerate age and appreciate the labour and service of elders, both living and departed.
Thereafter I spent quality time with HE President Olusegun Obasanjo in his various engagements in Lagos till his departure on a foreign mission. I had being much privileged in my public service career to have directly served this great global citizen, severally and still, daily, learn at his feet. Greatly patriotic, dogged, outspoken, cerebral, studious, hardworking, humble and avowedly spiritual!
