Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has airlifted 1,627 intending pilgrims to the Holy Land for this year’s pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

A statement signed by the public relations officer of the Board, Yunusa Muhammad Abdullahi said that Max Air airlifted the pilgrims in three flights, adding that the first flight carried 560 pilgrims and the second flight carried 509.

According to the statement, the third flight left Kaduna International Airport yesterday with 558 pilgrims out of whom 385 were males and 173 females.

They all arrived King Abdul’aziz International Airport Jeddah in good condition of health. The statement explained that Governor Nasir El-Rufa’i had visited the pilgrims twice at Kaduna International Airport, where he expressed satisfaction with the ongoing airlift operation.

The governor also commended the intending pilgrims for their continued patience while passing through the processes of their journey to the Holy Land.

He urged the pilgrims to focus on their spiritual obligations while in the Holy Land and serve as good ambassadors of Kaduna State and Nigeria.

He further appealed to the pilgrims to pray for the peace and stability of the country. About 3,200 intending pilgrims are expected to perform this year’s pilgrimage from Kaduna State.
