Group Calls for Political Unity of old Eastern Block towards producing the Next President in 2023

A group SOUTHSOUTH/SOUTHEAST 2023 has called on political leaders in the old eastern block to unite in order to create the zone with the largest voting strength of over 22million people .

The group noted, its call at this time was borne out of the desire to foster unity and political advantage as we move towards the general elections in 2023 where bridge building and consensus will be built among politicians.

At a press briefing over the weekend, the group President, Mr Pureh Kalango appealed to the leaders and citizens from the old eastern block (SoutthEast/SouthSouth) to brace up for this massive campaign and sensitization to build the largest voting block in Nigeria.

Mr Pureh Kalango also appealed to the ruling All Progressive Congress and Peoples Democratic Party to zone their presidential tickets to this voting block to ensure victory while also informing journalist that the group will be undertaken one of the most ambitious consultation and unity building among leaders in the SouthEast/SouthSouth block.

On his part, the South South regional Coordinator of the group Prince Chinwe Akarolo thanked members of this political block for realising at this critical point the benefit of coming together to form this block of over 23million registered voters with over 2million registered voters representing this zone but registered in Lagos State.

Prince Chinwe promised stakeholders that the 11 states making up this block will reach out to leaders from the north, emirs and politicians from the south west zone to achieve this goal.

Finally the Secretary of the group, Comr. Isoboye Ibanibo, hinted that a formal launch of the group will take place in Port Harcourt precisely the third week of March 2021 which will be followed by an aggressive membership drive to ensure the group reaches its target of over 10million members before the general elections.
