Frank Lampard: It will be hard to secure fourth place

Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard, has admitted that it would be difficult for the Blues to finish in the fourth position on the English Premier League table this season.

Lampard said this ahead of Chelsea’s away Premier League clash against Aston Villa on Sunday evening.

Chelsea currently holds a two-point advantage over Manchester United in fifth place, with less than nine matches remaining to conclude the campaign.

“It is going to be very tough [for Chelsea to finish in the fourth position],” Lampard was quoted by Chelsea’s official website as saying.

“You want every point that is on the table. There are a lot of tough games in our run-in.

“It is a battle. We’ll have to take the games as they come, remain focused on ourselves and not look around too much.

“If we can be focused on ourselves and get the right results, it will look after itself.

“We have teams that are behind us and around with a lot of quality that is pushing for the same reasons as us. It will be tough, but we will do our best.”
