Former Federal Perm. Sec, Ex-militant leader throw tantrums over abandoned FG projects in Bayelsa

Former Permanent Secetary of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, Amb. Godknows Boladei Igali has engaged in the throwing of tantrum with a former Militant Leader, Comrade Eris Paul popularly known as Ogunboss over the Federal Government abadoned drainage and Farmland Reclamation project since 2010.

Ogunboss, who have become vocal on social media and a recognised State public commentator, queried the Former Permanent Secretary and Governorship aspirant of the PDP, Dr. Godknows Boladei Igali on what happened to the  Federal Government abadoned drainage and Farmland Reclamation project meant to promote the cultivation at the Peremabiri Rice Farms located at the Peremabiri community of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area since July 2010.

According to Ogunboss, ‘This is a project of over half a billion from the Ministry of Water Resources sometimes 2010 and Amb. Godknows Boladei Igali was directly responsible in terms of negotiations with the community, this is 2019, the project is still in barren emptiness and smudged foundations’. 

‘This project was to serve as major source of water supply to the Peremabiri Rice Farms from the River, but is still wearing fake happiness & smear foundation even up till date. These are people who say they want to serve humanity and turn Yenagoa to Singapore or Dubai if they are elected as governor.’ 

‘Let Amb. Godknows Boladei Igali explain to Bayelsans what is still holding this project up till now?’

But in his reply, Amabassador Boladei Igali, who recently procured the PDP expression of Interest Form to context the September 3rd Governorship primaries of the party, accused the ex-militant leader of the alleged attempt to drag his name in the mud due to alleged political difference.

According to Boladei-Igali, ‘I see that you are doing everything to drag my name to unnecessary controversy as you promised during the period of the 2019 General Elections. Unfortunately for you, I am never afraid to speak for myself.  Even more sad, there are tonnes of young people who do not try to reason, but easily join to cheer very loud, whenever a senior person is been insulted. Too bad.’

‘My simple sin against you being the fact that, as a member of PDP, I supported Hon Moses Marlon, now member of House of Assembly, against your APC candidate, whom I also consider a younger brother. You had then called me on phone and threatened to hurt me. Yes, you may be dreaded and known for violence, but I have kept quite because the power of life and death is in the hands of Jehovah God, the keeper of Israel. Thereafter, you have always  taken the social media to write all manners of lies, blackmail and misinformation about me.’

‘Again I continuously ignored you, because the power to lift up and bring down is beyond any human being, including you and l.’

Explaining the reasons behind the abandoned status of the project, Dr.Godknows Boladei-Igali said though the project was conceived on resumption at the Federal Ministry of Water Resources as Permanent Secretary,’ I took office in May,2010,when the budget had been passed but had to look for funds everywhere from the Federal System to commence because I believe in the project’

‘Unlike other leaders,I never took the project to my nearby community, Enawari,which is also part of the rice belt but yours,since it has better prospects. Contract was eventually awarded to a company by the ministerial tenders board.’

Boladei- Igali also pointed out that the project was duely awarded to a company named 1st Project Perspective Limited ‘ The contractors’ name is stated on the project sign board and detail of ownership can be traced to corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).Even from your phone. In 2011 and 2012, I ensured sustainable funding for the project.At the beginning of 2013, I was transfered out from the Ministry.It is sad that this my pet project is presently like 14,000 others abandoned by the Federal Government around the country.’

‘From non-performing contractors can be reported to the EFCC and if you inquire from the Federal Ministry of water Resources and confirm the reasons.You can also drag the owners to court.’
