Residents of Rivers State and the world at large woke up to the news of an outbreak of the novel virus, being the first case, in the state some few days back. However, details of the information have not been made very public, with a large number of citizens believing they are being kept in the dark.

Interestingly, a man who believeably parades himself as an aid to the former Managing Director of a state-owned newspaper, Nigerian Tide Newspaper had reachout to NAIJA LIVE TV to reveal the dark truth surrounding the Rivers index case.

In a copy of the draft, sent to NAIJA LIVE TV, the aid to the sacked Managing Director narrates vividly how the pandemic found its way into the state and the events surrounding it. In fact, he explains the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike’s intention to cover the truth from being made available to the general public.

In his words:
“It started with a senator who traveled to various countries, making merriment around with his 19 year old model-girlfriend, who had contacted the Coronavirus.

They journeyed back to Nigeria after traveling to three countries and he went home to see his family on their return to the country while shielding the girl at one of his favorite hotels (‘Transcorp Hilton Abuja.’) At a time, he left his family and the model in Abuja and came down to Port Harcourt.

While in Port Harcourt, he visited the Governor and together, they attended a Party Congress, where they mingled with others dignitaries, including 23 Council Chairmen and Councillors, who then took ‘the message of the virus’ to their respective villages.”

He goes further to reveal that:
“At the village they come in very close contact with their supporters who come in contact with other family and friends.”

Relating back to the girl Transcorp Hilton Abuja, the aid alleges that:
“While in Transcorp Hilton, the girl started to feel feverish and called the ‘Mr Senator’. Mr Senator was scared that this could be the effect of excessive spending and shopping they had and suspected the ‘Chinese virus’ and thus ordered one of his numerous Drivers and retinue of Police to escort the girl by road from Abuja to Port Harcourt, knowing the airport was a no go area. The girl got driven to Port Harcourt and kept under self-quarantine at Eleme.”

Interestingly and to conclude, the sender of the letter, an aid to the sacked journalist, pointed out the consequences that embraced the journalist who disclosed firstly the information.

According to him, “The first victim of this unfolding drama is an innocent journalist- the Managing Director of Nigerian Tide Newspaper who recently got fired by the state governor for making public the information and revealing the identity of the senator in question.”

The question now is what has happened to the driver, the retinue of Police and everybody involved in the matter, including the Senator, his family and friends? Now, Rivers State needs to be careful.
