The Senior Special Assistant to the Bayelsa State Governor on Entertainment, Honorable Ambassador Douye Asu, popularly known as Jeffiraino, has filed a formal petition with the police following a major financial discrepancy involving state-sponsored event funds, which alleges impersonation, theft, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace against two prominent local entertainers.
Reports from Naija Live TV indicate that the petition was filed against Joseph Emeralda, popularly known as MC Okpeke, and Ebizimor Okosufa, also known as MC AJ, over a dispute that stems from the Isampo Twenty-Twenty-Three event, where Ambassador Douye Asu claims he was misled regarding the total contract sum.
According to the Senior Special Assistant, he was initially informed that the event budget was six million naira.
Based on this figure, three million naira was purportedly allocated to visiting Nollywood actors and actresses, while the remaining three million naira was distributed among the Bayelsa-based artists and the internal entertainment team.
However, Ambassador Douye Asu later discovered through a confidential source that the actual payment authorized for the programme was sixteen million naira, leaving a ten-million-naira deficit unaccounted for.
According to Ambassador Douye Asu, the discovery prompted him to confront MC Okpeke and MC AJ, who were responsible for receiving and disbursing the funds from the organizers.
However, their subsequent failure to provide a satisfactory explanation led to a formal legal complaint filed through his solicitors, and their eventual arrest.
Both individuals remain in police custody and are reportedly undergoing interrogation while seeking bail.
