The youths of Akwa ibom with clearance and participation from the state’s police force conducts a peaceful #EndSars protest today in Uyo.
The protest which started in the early hours of the morning with over 50 police officers in the fore front of the protest led to the state’s government house to address the Governor, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.
On reaching the government house, the Governor calmed the angry youths and addressed them saying “In conjunction with the IGP on the disbanding of SARS officers in Nigeria, that the state promises to stop any form of harassment or molestation by any SARS officer.
Shortly After addressing the youths Gov. Udom offered the sum of 4million naira to the youths which they turned down and requested their voices should be heard rather than offering them money.
On leaving the government house the protesters headed to the State’s house of assembly at Udo udoma Avenue and voiced out to the speaker and workers on their take in the #ENDSARS issue. They added that Forex trading and the use of iPhones and dreadlocks doesn’t mean they are scammers and Yahoo boys and they shouldn’t be harassed anymore.
