The Peoples Democratic Party has started screening 7 out of 10 aspirants seeking to fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming Edo State Governorship election.

The exercise which started at the party’s National Secretariat around 2:00 pm was still on as at 5:15pm.

Earlier, one of the aspirants and Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu while speaking onbehalf of himself and six others expressed gratitude to the PDP National Working Committee for debunking an earlier publication alleging that the party had approved and released a list of venues for the delegates congress.

Shaibu said, “As you all can see right here, we are grateful to the NWC for their prompt action regarding the fake 3-Ad-hoc delegate venue. On behalf of my co- aspirants here for Screening today, we say thank you to the NWC”.
