The 2024 edition of Dirimobou festival was held on Saturday 20th January, 2024, at Ikebiri town in Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa state.

The festival which was well attended by people from far and near, created opportunity for lovers of tradition to display the rich Ijaw culture. The whole session was entertained with traditional songs and other activities.

In attendance was the Traditional Prime Minister, High Chief (Hon.) MacDonald Igbadiwei and other notable personalities. The Izon-Tupka, Great Joshua Maciver, played the host.

High Chief MacDonald Igbadiwei, who spoke to newsman recounted the many blessings the festival will bring and explained the need to uphold the Ijaw heritage.

Also, Apostle Bodmas Kemepadei, noted that the Dirimobou festival is as old as the history of the Ikebiri people and that the festival is accompanied with protection, wealth, fruitfulness and lots more.


A football match was also played between Korokorosei boys and Ikebiri boys in the evening, followed by music supply by the Paddle of Niger Delta, Chief Barrister S. Smooth, who took the stage till dawn in songs.
