The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has called on the federal and state governments to make conscious efforts at balance the religious divide in the country.

CAN President, Reverend Samson Ayokunle made the call at the dedication of the Kogi State Government House Chapel held in Lokoja.

Reverend Ayokunle described the building of the chapel as a symbol of justice and fairness and evidence of Governor Yahaya Bello’s all-inclusive leadership style which he said is a template for other leaders to follow.

Kogi State Deputy Governor Edward Onoja, who represented the Governor at the event said the existence of a place of worship only for Muslims since the state was created was an error which Governor Bello was determined to correct.

High point of the commissioning exercise was the presentation of an award to the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello as Friend of the Church by the Kogi State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria.
