As tension continues to rise over the disagreement between the organised labour and the various levels of government in Nigeria over minimum wage, President Muhammad Buhari led government has rejected the proposal for N22,500 new minimum wage by the Nigetian Governors Forum.

The position of the Federal Government was revealed by the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige during a Channels Television program, Sunrise Daily, monitored by Our corespondent

He said, “The governors have not even done enough. I told them that this N22,500 was even rejected by the Federal Government,” he said.

The NGF had stated that they were capable of paying Nigerian workers N22,500 as the new minimum wage as against the current N18,000.
