The Concerned Youth Forum of Tarakiri on Monday blasted Mr. Barakabo Perekibode, the coordinator of the Chief David Lyon Total Support Group of Ogboinbiri for alleging that the Governor of Bayelsa State, Hon. Seriake Dickson, was scheming to enthrone himself as leader of the whole Ijaw nation.
Reacting to the disparaging statement, the spokesman of the Concerned Youth Forum of Tarakiri, Mr. Ebikebina Akpe, condemned Perekibode’s statement in very strong terms, and warned the APC stalwart to desist from making reckless statements capable of heating up the Bayelsa polity.
Mr. Akpe stated that the Chief David Lyon Total Support Group was trading lies and half truths in order to cast aspersions on the person of Governor Dickson over issues they had no proper knowledge of nor could defend if called upon.
“I am using this opportunity to inform all well meaning Bayelsans and the general public to discountenance themselves from the blatant lies and half truths Mr. Barakabo and his co-travellers are spreading in the Social Media about Governor Dickson.
” They should be cautioned that press freedom is not a license to deprecate the reputation of others. If they don’t desist from such libelous publication and defamatory statements, the Concerned Youth Forum of Tarakiri will be compelled to institute legal action in court.”
It would be recalled that Mr. Barakabo had alleged that Dickson was homeless until Dr. Goodluck Jonathan appointed him Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Bayelsa State, alleging that the gods had rejected Douye Diri and Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
