One of the Frontline governorship aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and philathropist, Architect Reuben Okoya, has stated that Bayelsa State ‘will spell doom and disasterous’ if the electorates do not get it right this time by electing credible leader with requisite experience of development in order to transform the State to an eviable height.

He said he has track record of performance and development as a former Commissioner of Works and Special Duties during the administrations of Chief D.P.S. Alamieyeseigha and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.

Our Bayelsai State Correspondent reports that Okoya made the statement during a press briefing held in Yenagoa at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Bayelsa State.

Arch. Okoya said his administration will move the State from civil sector driven economy to private sector driven economy, adding that his administration will build infrastructures and provide friendly environment to attract private sector if elected into office.

In the issue of perennial flooding in Bayelsa State, Architect Okoya said first thing is to carry out topographical study to ascertain the environment and conduct a design of Bayelsa, especially the Yenagoa City drainages to channel the water to the cannals.

He said his administration will market the State through sports and entertainment, which according to him will create job opportunities for the teeming youths, adding that his administration will solve the ecliptic power supply within six months.

His words, “I have served Bayelsa State and Nigeria diligently well and prepared to served you well as a governor come November, 16 2019.

I have footprints everywhere as a trained architect and environmental scientist. We must pick leaders that are tried and tested before, who have outstanding performances, not on paper, not on billboards but what is visually seen on ground.

The first thing whoever being elected into office should be to unite the State and bring everybody together as a one entity and move the State forward.

We are equal stakeholders in Bayelsa project. I have the capacity to bring everybody together. We will build schools, hospitals, roads, houses and so on, to grow our human capacity.

To serve Bayelsa is easy and sometimes difficult. It is easy when you have requisite experience, and it is difficult when you don’t have experience and don’t know what to do,” he stated.

He called for free, fair, credible and transparent polls that will be acceptable by all.
